Location
The New York – John Fitzgerald Kennedy International Airport,opened in 1948,is the largest and most important commercial airport in the entire New York area and also on the east coast of the United States of America. It is located approximately 14 miles east of downtown Manhattan. It is very easy to reach by car, either via the signposted Interstate I-678, which ends directly at the terminals, via the New York State Routes 27 & 878 or via the Belt Parkway.

The distance to Newark International Airport is approximately 43 kilometers, that to New York – La Guardia Airport is approximately 15 kilometers, that to the New York – Downtown Manhattan Heliport is approximately 20 kilometers and the distance to the New York – West 30th Street Heliport is approximately 11 kilometers.

In addition to the usual arrival and departure options with your own car, limousine, rental car or taxi, there is also extensive long-distance and local transport from / to the airport. The AirTran JFK, for example, stops at John F. Kennedy Airport, this express train connects all currently active terminals with the Howard Beach subway station (Route A – IND Rockaway Line) and Sutpin Boulevard Station (Routes E, J and Z – Archer Avenue Line) as well as with the Jamaica Station of the Long Island Railraod (LIRR). Passengers needing to change airports between John F. Kennedy and LaGuardia can use the New York Airport Express Bus. A regular shuttle bus service is also offered between John F. Kennedy and Newark with the Go Airlink NYC. There are also regular bus connections to Midtown Manhattan, Pennsylvania Station (various Amtrak routes and S-Bahn), Grand Central Terminal (S-Bahn) and the Port Authority Bus Terminal (Greyhound, NJ Transit, Peter Pan, Trans- Bridge and various others).
