What is Management?

Management means management, administration, where there is an institution, a company, a social entity of people, to be managed or administered.

The objective is growth, established by the company through human effort organized by the group, with a specific objective. Institutions can be private, mixed capital companies, for profit or not.

Management emerged when, after the industrial revolution, professionals decided to seek a solution to problems that did not exist before, using various methods of science, to manage the business of the time, which gave rise to the science of administration, as it is necessary to know and apply administrative models and techniques.

There is also project management or project management, which consists of a group of measures or temporary initiatives that will contribute to the development of a product or service. Project management applies techniques and methodologies to achieve a set of targets set by a team. It is possible to identify five phases of project management: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and control and completion.

In the context of the environment, environmental management is an area related to sustainability and environmental planning and addresses the economic, social and environmental aspects of business activities. It is a professional area whose visibility has greatly increased, as a result of the growing environmental awareness on the part of companies.

The concept of people management or human resources management is an association of skills and methods, policies, techniques and practices defined, with the objective of managing internal behaviors and enhancing human capital in organizations.

People management is often confused with the Human Resources sector, but HR is the technique and mechanisms that the professional uses and people management aims to value professionals.
